Life is Motion Sometimes too fast Like sound hitting air As an event As a throatful Of unframed flesh and atoms Pulled-apart existence Of bread of families of flowers Of time and space In Spain Gregory and Clare and Heather and Victoria and Gedi and Patricia Oil on canvas Aluminum and wood Ceremonial evolutions Always never arriving “Until I catch them breathing” In the Hic et Nunc Around a stump Around a long ago Around a future And toward a somewhere else Of lighted points Of present configurations Life is Motion! Heraclitus cried All entities move And nothing remains still Our reflections And dilations of time’s society And purpose Present portals Of futures hitched Inside them To a union Of mystery To a world That lacks A grounding effect
